Solace

"Solace"

A misty form glides slow across the fields,
Upon the wind and darkness it yields.
Allowin' to pass, I make my own way,
Through forests of willow, and shadin' of grey.

Swept gently along, the moon as my guide,
O'er the sea of tears which formed as I cried.
The waves gently pushed and helped me to shore,
Left behind in the darkness, till I saw it no more.

Over the hills and flowers in bloom,
And towerin' mountains which beckon my doom.
To the other side, and the forest of dreams,
To you and the solace for which my heart screams.

For here in the night in this magical land,
Alone you await to cradle my hand.
My empty arms reach, and here you don't fight.
For this is where I may love you, alone in the night.

Is such a long journey I make in my sleep,
While the shell of a man will quietly weep.
But 'tis all I have left of a once perfect part,
Half's all that remains of a now broken heart.

A new day dawns and I must make my way,
Back to the shadows of unwanted day.
To await the arrival of the darkening skies,
The sun slowly rises as my empty soul sighs..
